Party with Nan and Nanny & Grandad

This weekend Nan came up to visit us and since it’s quite close to Austin’s birthday we decided to have a little party for him.  My family came over to join us too.  The weather recently has been brilliant so we were hoping to have it outside on our new furniture – but purchase of the patio furniture appears to have caused rain!!!  So we had a party inside….

…with party food and presents….

One of his presents was a basketball net.  They have one of these at Nanny’s house and it is Austin’s favourite and he is actually very good at throwing!!  He has a pretty good aim and at times a dangerously powerful throw!!

(I didn’t spot Noah in that photo, someone pointed him out to me!  He spends a lot of his time climbing all over Grandad, dangling upside down on him…poor Grandad!!)

After the party food had gone down we had cake….

Austin loved the exploding, singing candle!  Although he wasn’t really that interested in eating his cake.  He is such a fussy eater…he doesn’t even really like cake….he only really ate this spoonful which I asked him to eat for the photo!

They all also got bubble guns as a belated Easter present from Tina so we went outside to play with them since the rain had stopped.  It’s a good job we did go outside because they managed to get bubble mixture everywhere and Austin was soaked….

He hardly needed any soap in the bath!!!

Cool cakes

Caitlin went to her friend’s party today and she had the coolest cakes!  It was a gymbobs party….great parties where they bring lots of gym kit and let them run around for an hour testing it all out…they love it!

Instead of a birthday cake she had loads of really cool cakes….

they were all magic roundabout characters!  I love the magic roundabout so I loved them!!  I have no idea where she got them from but they were brilliant.

Growing..growing!!

All 3 of them have been doing lots of growing!  Noah has especially shot up, outgrowing loads of his jeans….he has been eating really well.  It’s still a bit of an effort to get him to eat, he would still opt to have nothing if it was an option but he has realised it isn’t an option and so mostly just gets on and eats his tea.  This has really paid off with him growing loads and hardly being ill over the winter.

I measured them all the other day and Caitlin is now 108cm, Noah is 103cm and Austin is 84cm.

I think it is about 9 months since I last measured them!!  Back then there was 6cm between Caitlin and Noah and now there is only 5cm….so he is catching her up again for the moment…..  Strangely I always thought Austin was big but he must have really slowed down.  He is now only on the 25th centile, and he is shorter than Noah was at that age…and only 3cm taller than Caitlin was at that age.

Gawsworth Hall

We weren’t sure what to do today as Richard was working and then some friends mentioned they were going to a car show at Gawsworth Hall…so we tagged along!  We met at the club and drove there together.  There are horses at the club and so we said hello to them while everyone was arriving….

It was lovely and sunny but very very windy so quite cold!  We saw mini’s of course…..

….armoured vehicles!!!

…and gorgeous campervans…

That green one was our friends wedding car…we see it all the time and always take a photo with it!!  They have also bought their own campervan which the kids all had a great time playing in!!

One day we will have our own camper..not that I like camping…but we could drive to solid accommodation in it!!!!!

We also had a look at some Austin’s…and I took a photo of Austin with an Austin!!!

Party gatecrashers!

This weekend Caitlin had 3 party invites, 2 were in soft play’s so I took the boys along as well so that Richard could get on with the utility room!!

I didn’t manage to get any photo’s of Caitlin as she was too busy in the party room but I got a couple of funny ones of Austin!!

…he spent ages playing here, having a great time!!

I had to go and help Caitlin as she was refusing to eat because she didn’t know which food was ok for her to eat!  When I got there she was right there was only carrot sticks and cucumber sticks she could have, everything else had milk in…pizza, cheese butties, cheesy crisps….  Amazingly they had dairy free ice-cream!  Something they really should advertise better!!  I have been there a few times and had no idea they did that, in fact I don’t know of any soft play (or other attraction) that does dairy free ice-cream.
