Vasausts!!!!!!

At the moment Noah is obsessed with vasausts….(that’s an exhaust to the rest of us!!)  Every time we pass a car he checks out how many exhausts it has…  The more the better obviously!  He also is very impressed by spoilers although he is very confused about what a spoiler is…he quite often thinks roof bars are spoilers and therefore thinks people carriers must be some sort of sports car??!!  Occasionally we pass a car that has 4 exhausts and he goes mad about it, declaring it the coolest car ever!!!!!  Drag cars have loads of exhausts and so they are just out of this world!  He has also decided he wants to take his friends drag racing for his birthday…….I think not!!

Caitlin’s party!!!!!!!!!

It’s a few weeks after Caitlin’s birthday but we’d delayed her party so that she could invite her new school friends.  Since we didn’t know anyone at school (apart from her best friend) it was either invite them all or none….so we went with all!  That made 29 invites!!!!!!  She also invited some of her old friends and of course Noah and Austin….that made a lot of 5’ish year olds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We had it in a church hall near to our house.  It was a lovely big room, and before we went my Mum had jokingly said someone would be sick!  Sure enough after the first game…someone was sick!!!!!  I so can not do sick but luckily a few people helped out and I just had the easy task of making sure someone was dealing with it!!  (Thank you Linda and Lou!)  The whole party was very chaotic!!!!  We played lots of games but it was really hard keeping the attention of over 36 kids (we had 36 people accept their invite but we also had a few people bring extras!) especially once they were out of that particular game.  The noise also wasn’t helped by the 30’ish adults we had!!!!!!!!  It was so chaotic I only took 3 photo’s…and only 1 was good!!

There were also complaints (from someone who wasn’t even invited!!!!!!!) that they hadn’t won a game…..OF COURSE they didn’t win I made sure a winner was someone we’d actually invited!!  There were a few kids who wouldn’t stop fighting….  It was chaos and never ever again!!! :-)!!  It’s a good job Caitlin loved it!

Another visitor….

On Friday Nan arrived!!!  She was staying in Austin’s room and Caitlin and Noah were very excited that Austin would be having 3 sleepover’s in their room!  Nan arrived just before school pick up which meant she could watch Austin while I ran around collecting Caitlin and Noah which made it a lot easier!  After school the kids played with Nan while I finished off the party bags for Caitlin’s birthday party.

On the Saturday it was ballet and Nan did loads of clearing in the front garden.  Then Richard and his Mum (Nan!) looked after the kids while I made the fairy cakes and birthday cake.  While they were doing that I heard Noah shouting for help…I assumed they were dealing with him as it all went quiet.  After I had made the cakes I went upstairs and found this………..

Yes!!!!!!!  Noah asleep on the loo!!!!!!!!!  He had got so bored waiting for help that he gave up and fell asleep!!!

Sunday was the party but I will post about that separately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  And on Monday Nan had to head home…..

Some visitors and Austin is possessed!!

This week we have had some visitors….Grandma and Grandad from France.  Caitlin and Noah were really excited to see them, but Austin seems to have been possessed by the devil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He has decided to screech and scream and hit and bite and pinch and he is generally being horrible!!!!!!!  I’m hoping he is getting sick or something??!!

After school we went to the pub where Grandma and Grandad were staying for a meal and we bumped into Noah’s teacher which he thought was very funny!  We managed to get our main course but Austin was being too much of a horror to stay for dessert so we went back to ours.  Grandma and Grandad haven’t seen our new house yet so we gave them a tour although it was a bit dark for it really, and then we put Austin to bed and he was asleep before we shut the door…..very very tired!!

The next night we were supposed to be going out for tea again but the real Austin still hadn’t returned so we made a last-minute decision to stay in!!!!  Grandma and Grandad has presents for the kids which couldn’t have been more perfect…they were both very impressed with theirs, and Austin liked everyone’s too!

(I really must start taking photo’s again!! I keep forgetting and my posts are very boring without them!!)

Then it was time to say goodbye as they were off the next morning!!  Very strangely…Austin soon returned to normal, he wasn’t ill so I have no idea what was wrong with him???!!!!!!!!!

Full-time at last!!!!!!!

Finally this week Caitlin has gone full-time to school!  She was definitely ready to go full-time and it was nice not to be doing a million school runs each day!  The downside was that I now have to be in 2 places that are 2 miles apart at the same time!  Noah has to be late every day which his nursery is fine about, but pick up I have 15 minutes to do the 2 miles in school rush hour which is very very tight!!!!!

Also this week I had a meeting with Caitlin’s teacher who said she is doing brilliantly and is well ahead with her writing and letters which was good to hear.  She also said she has settled in really well and is getting on with everybody really well.  Next week they will also be split into groups of similar ability which will be called different fruits.

Party time

Today we went to a party. It was a boy from Noah’s nursery but because it is so early in the school year he invited lots of people from last year too so Caitlin and Noah both went. It wa at a soft play so I sneaked Austin in as well!  It was lovely to see everyone and find out how they were all getting on at their new schools.  Austin managed to sneak some pudding as one person hadn’t turned up…he had a great time dipping his breadsticks in the chocolate sauce!!!!!

Coolio…or NOT!!!!!!!

Today we were supposed to be going to a family fun day where the star of the show…apart from Bob the builder and some others…was Coolio!!!!!  I was very excited as I use to really like Coolio.  With about a weeks notice and after he had re-discovered fame through an appearance on Big Brother…Coolio decided he would be able to charge much more for an appearance and so he cancelled our event!!!!!!!!!  Worried that he was the main attraction and the lack of him would cause too many complaints the whole thing was cancelled!!  Much as I was looking forward to Coolio I still think it would have been good without him!!  We were going with some friends so decided to do something else anyway.  We planned for a walk around the lake but the rain stopped that and so we took bikes to a little road set up in a park….

…it was a bit drizzly but we cycled around for a while before it got a bit heavier and we had to give up!!

Then we went for a pub tea which seemed to take us ages…we just sat about talking and before we knew it it was bedtime!!

Still part-time!

Caitlin is still only part-time at school….mornings this week….and not just mornings, actually shortened mornings.  It’s all a bit daft really, most of them have been to nursery before so are used to school.  Since she was only in for half days it meant we could go and meet Abigail and Katie at a soft play…

It also meant that we could set off for Nanny and Grandad’s early on Friday.  The kids were staying over because we had a party invite!!!  It was a short stay as Caitlin had to be back for ballet on Saturday morning.

A year since Austin was Christened

A while back we got a letter from the priest inviting us to the yearly Christening anniversary celebration.  It was for all the children who had been Christened in the past year and happened to be roughly a year since Austin had been Christened.  We figured we really should go even though church really isn’t compatible with 3 young kids!!!  When we arrived there were about 10 other families all with at least one child about a year old….I jokingly said it’s going to be like a competition for who has the loudest baby/toddler………..we won hands down!!!!!!!  Austin is so loud…he shouts all the time.  He had my Mum in hysterics because he kept shouting “yeah, yeah, yeah” every time the priest paused!  He also wanted to run around which obviously he couldn’t so it was all a bit of a nightmare, but it was a lovely idea!!

End of week 1 at school

Caitlin’s first week has gone really well.  She loves school and has been a bit disappointed that she only gets to go in the afternoon and not all day!!!  She has even had her “helping hand” put on the tree for helping someone to find something!!

On Saturday it was time for ballet again so off she went and really enjoyed that too.  This week she spotted a boy from her class there too and so was very happy she knew someone.  When we got home I told her to go and get changed before having her dinner.  She wandered off asking if she could wear her blue dress….I shouted yes, then thought it was strange she’s pick her blue dress over her millions of pink ones!!!!!  I then twigged that she meant her school dress!  So I went up and said she couldn’t wear her school dress as she wasn’t going to school.  It had completely escaped me to explain that there was no school at the weekends!!!!!!!!!!  This realisation prompted LOTS of tears!!!  She really really does love school!

Sunday was more swimming and Richard came too so Austin got to swim.  Their new teacher has completely mis-read Caitlin and poured water over her head as a surprise and this made Caitlin cry for the whole of the rest of the lesson…..  I hope she’s a bit gentler on her next time.
