A few questions…

I’ve seen this done on a few blogs and since we are having a quiet day while Richard sands the edges of the floors and before the chaos of the coming week I thought I would ask Caitlin and Noah a few questions (the first 3 of which I pinched……)

Ok…Noah is just going to repeat Caitlin so I have sent him away while I ask separately!!

C – a tooth fairy
N – a mini

C – sausage and mash

C – a train that’s got a pig on…
N – a car and a mini and mini racing

C – Gan
N – Elvis

What type of car are you going to have when you grow up?
C – I might have one with one seat at the back
N – Elvis…. (me – I don’t think so!!!!!!) Oh I’ll have loads of minis all for my birthday…

What will be the best thing about moving into the new house?
C – my new slide bed
N – Elvis…(uh oh I seem to have got his mind stuck on Elvis!!)

Hmmm Noah really is obsessed with mini’s!!!  We’re doing a good job on the brain washing front lol!!

Church doesn’t agree with us….

Every time I go to church one of them completely embarrasses me!!!!!!  This morning we went along and within about 30 seconds the organ started up… So Caitlin says why is there music playing?  So I replied…they just play music in church so that you can sing along….  Caitlin had a little think about this and then replied in a nice loud clear voice… “that’s why I wore my music knickers” and promptly pulled her jeans down a bit so I could see the music knickers!!!!!!!!  Great hey??!!!

I just hope they don’t embarrass us next Sunday at Austins Christening!!!!!!!!!!!

Apart from that we’ve had a fairly boring week and weekend.  Its been quite nice to have a quiet week actually, just plodding about with no appointments to keep to.  Over the weekend we have been busy sanding the floors in the new house as we have to move in in about 8 weeks….  A tight deadline but it’ll be a relief to finally be in!

The birthday celebrations have started!!!

Next week is Caitlin’s birthday and as its the holiday season quite a few people can’t make her proper party so we went out for lunch today!

We had to get the bus there as Elvis has failed his MOT so until his spare parts arrive I’m carless!  As I’d forgotten to take the pram out of the boot Louise came to collect Austin in his car seat so that he had somewhere to sit during lunch!  I then took Lucy on the bus which was highly amusing!  She doesn’t get to go on the bus much and found the whole thing very exciting!

After we’d eaten we went outside to play and open her present!!

It was a playmobil camper van with a million tiny pieces…they both love it!!!!!!

After we got home I went through some more of Austin’s outgrown clothes and we tried the Christmas outfit on him…  Then of course Caitlin and Noah wanted a try…see Noah aged 2.5 for the Christmas outfit!!  Then he tried a t-shirt that Noah had on aged 1….

….and surprise, surprise…Caitlin is still in her version!!!!!!

…it just looks like her hair is longer!!!!!!!!!

And here Austin is in a 6-9 month sleepsuit!!!!!!

…hmmm they also aren’t going to last too long!!!!!!!!!!!

Noah aged 2 and a half!

Well I’m almost a week late with this now and so if I don’t throw something together soon he’ll be 3!!!!!!  Last Saturday Noah was 2 and a half!!  He seems so old since Austin has been born…  He adores Caitlin and copies EVERYTHING she does both good and bad!!!  He idolises her, repeats almost every sentence she speaks unless he is distracted by something big!  This has meant his speech is fantastic, he can say a lot more at this age than Caitlin could even though her speech is good.  He can count to 20 quite reliably, knows a lot of letters and has a good go at over writing his name.  All of this is through copying Caitlin!  Sometimes I think he has missed a year of his life…  Since he became aware of Caitlin he has strived to do what she does and this has meant he has learnt things a lot quicker than he would have done.  He has missed loads of toys that would have been appropriate for his age and skipped straight to the ones that are a year ahead of him…the ones that Caitlin is up to!  As Caitlin is a bit shy and reserved she is quite happy to have someone to help her with things and I think Noah has made her more confident…they always get mistaken for twins and in a lot of ways they act like twins!  I just hope this doesn’t mean Austin will be left out.

I need to measure and weigh him for the record!

His favourite food is still bananas and he would happily eat just those if I let him!  He’s not a fussy eater but he is picky..he has a tiny appetite and so picks at what I give him.  He isn’t as keen on spiky (spicy) food as Caitlin, but in true copy cat style he tries to eat it…very funny to watch!

He is desperate to go to school and regularly sneaks into Caitlin’s class while I’m not watching!  He can’t quite hop yet but tries!  The only thing he doesn’t agree with Caitlin on is his favourite colour…his is blue whereas hers is pink!  But I think he says his is blue because Caitlin told him that is what colour boys like!!!!!!!!

Noah is unbelievably cheeky!! He is full of character and most of his photo’s show that!!  He is very inquisitiveand can not help himself but to touch everything…often knocking it over or breaking it as he tests how far it moves!  But if you tell him off or make him get in the pram after knocking a display over he just does it…no tantrums or even tears!  That doesn’t of course stop him doing it again!!  I love the fact he is full of character, he makes me laugh a lot.  He runs away a lot but generally if I say to stop at a certain object he does.  He loves other kids, especially ones who are younger than him and he often goes up to them and talks or plays with them, and if he sees a baby he HAS to go over and touch them although he is really gentle with them.

Here he is today dressed in the Father Christmas outfit he wore 2 years ago…just look at that face!!! 

…and again 2 years ago!!  He has slimmed out alot!!!

3 months today!

Austin is now 3 months old!!!!  Where has the time gone!  He is massive…and is now in predominantly 6-9 months clothes, although t-shirts seem more flexible and he is still in some 0-3 months for those!  He is trying to roll from his back to his front but always goes to the right and hasn’t quite managed to get all the way over just yet!  He chatters away and is generally a very content little thing.  He can sit in his bumbo and seems to like being sat up like everyone else!  He sleeps through the night almost every night with only one or two nights were he hasn’t since about 7 weeks.  He loves being in the bath and laughs if you pour water on him.

He adores Caitlin and Noah, and loves it when they play with him!  And just look at this cheeky grin as he’s bouncing around!!!!!!

It’s that massive grin that wakes me up every morning!!  He doesn’t cry when he wakes up he just starts chatting away and gives a huge grin when he spots you, what a way to wake up!!!

Barcelona!

I went to Barcelona on a hen weekend…it was great but not worth the bother – won’t be going away alone again!  I won’t moan so will just post a few photos….

This church has been in the process of being built forever..bit like our house!

Chickenbugs!!

Today we went off to play with Abi and Katie….we went to “chickenbugs” according to Noah!!  Its actually called Jitterbugs but Noah insisted it was chickenbugs which I found quite funny!!

Yet again Caitlin was dripping in sweat…no idea how she gets so hot it’s not like she was overdressed….

And Austin had a bit of a kick about on the floor and practiced holding his head up….

The kids are off to my Mums tomorrow while I go to Barcelona on a hen weekend and Richard really gets stuck into the house!!  I’m hoping after 2 uninterrupted days I’ll see lots of progress!!!

Rockets and jabs!

This morning was time for Austin’s second set of injections…he cried a lot but Caitlin cried more!  Last time Caitlin wasn’t there since we waited so long she had to go to school.  When she saw the nurse “make a hole” in Austins leg and saw him scream she also burst into tears!!!!!!!!  They both recovered quite quickly though!!  I had him weighed as well and he is now a hefty 15lb 2!!  That’s as heavy as Caitlin was at 36 weeks!!!!!!!!!  Yes you read that right 36 weeks and he is 12!!!!!!!!!!

Then we headed home to play with Squidge.  She was reviewing a rocket so came around to ours to do it.  It was a giant cardboard rocket that you decorate and then play with….

I think Caitlin got the decorating more than the other 2…she had a great time filling the inside with loads of astronauts!!!!!!!

The others had more fun dressing up and getting in and out of the rocket!!

In fact they were still playing with it before bed!  They love it but it is massive!! 

Linda also got another thing to review!!!!  A baby gym so she has loaned it to Austin to have a go of.  He seemed to like his new toy as well, we haven’t got anything like this so he was loving getting it to play noises when he kicked….

…he also thought it was really comfy to sleep on!!!!!!!!!!!!

12 weeks today!

In just over an hours time Austin will be 12 weeks old!  I can’t believe how quickly time has gone!  He’ll be 1 before we know it!  He is getting more and more active, he loves kicking his legs around and is making his moses basket rock about!  We really need to move so he can go in a cot.  He is also very “talkative” he chats away to himself all the time.  He has been a bit naughty for the past 2 days and has woken up really early.  On Saturday night Richard volunteered to get up with him and so he woke up at around 3.30 and was awake on and off until Richard gave up at about 7 when Caitlin and Noah woke..and yep you guessed it Austin went straight back to sleep then!!!  This morning he woke up at 5.30!!  But it’s so hard to get mad because he wakes you up with loads of chatting and legs flying up and down and when you go over to him you get the biggest best smiles ever!!

I might try to video him tomorrow morning on my brand new camera!!!!!!  I went to town today and got brave and bought a camera!!!  My battery is just charged so I’ll be having a play later and hopefully tomorrow will bring excellent videos and perfect pictures!!!!!!!!

We’re also going strong and we’re on day 7 of the top challenge.  I under estimated Austin as even without adding his new bigger tops I still can’t get his drawer to shut without a struggle after I totally caught up with the washing!!!!!!

Sorting clothes!!

Tonight while I was making tea Caitlin and Noah were pestering me so I asked if they wanted a job….  They said yes so I gave them the task of putting all of Austin’s next size clothes into piles of t-shirts, jeans, pj’s etc…..  After about 5 minutes (and no sorting at all..no surprise there though!) there was hysterical laughing…and they were both dressed in Austin’s clothes!!!!!!!  Amazingly they actually fitted Caitlin really well width ways just not in length..at all!!!!!!!  This sunsuit was 12-18 months but was quite baggy on her…wouldn’t save any of her legs or arms from the sun though!!

Of course after Caitlin had tried it Noah had to have a go…he looked like Kevin out of Kevin and Perry!

And then Caitlin squeezed herself into some 9-12 months pj’s…..

Again a tad short but did up fine….the mad pair!!!!!!!
