Richard here – before Byrney steals my video, I had a quick play at animation this evening using one of Caitilins birthday presents – it would have gone on longer, but our pizza got delivered so I gave up in favour of feasting !!!! 🙂
Any way, this is what I wasted an hour on tonight !!!
Caitlin stayed in her bed all night long! She didn’t get out once until she woke up at 7am this morning and took herself downstairs. This is actually a bit of a miracle because both of us forgot to put a nappy on her for bed! She climbed into bed on her own rather than one of us having to pick her up so we didn’t notice the bare bum! She is way way way off being toilet trained at night and did have an accident, well not sure its an accident on her part since she’s not dry at night, more an accident that we forgot! So not only did she stay in bed all night long, she stayed in a wet bed all night long! Wow she is a heavy sleeper……
Her duvet does look like it swamps her bed though, but I bet it will be so cosy in winter!
Today at Caitlin’s party she got a new duvet cover and a new duvet all inpreparation for her move from a cot to a big girls bed!!!!! She is fairly late to be moving but I’ve always been a bit wary since she is such a good sleeper, also we always said we’d move her when she climbed out, and she never did!
So tonight Caitlin helped turn her cot into a bed….
and then tucked up with her new presents in her “big girls bed”……
Its now 10.30 and we haven’t heard a sound from her so hopefully it’ll be a smooth transition!!
In preparation for the party I made a cake…or 4!!!!!!!!! I made take 1 last night in a rush before I went out and it was raw in the middle and so a disaster! So I made the next 2 this morning… In the end I think it was a success! The theme for the party was a beach party….so we turned the living room into a beach with sea!
…and the cake was also the sea and beach…
Talking of cakes..the cake had the coolest candle! Bought by Caitlin’s great, great Aunty Valee. I’m hoping to get a video clip of it uploaded tomorrow!
At the party we made sunglasses but to be honest it didn’t go down as well as making tiaras did last year…
Caitlin was a bit anti-social at first and sat all alone on our make shift bench, made from mini wheels!
We then had food and played in the garden since we had a rare dry day! And everyone joined Caitlin on her bench…
We then played pass the parcel….
Then it was time for everyone to go…so we opened presents…
Caitlin loved every single one of her presents. I think she said WOW to them all too! After presents they had their cake…
We went back to see Charlie and Lola in the hope we wouldn’t get sent down the fire escape this time! At least this time Caitlin had remembered and knew who they were! Her favourite thing was still the phone and desk.
and the kitchen with lots of play food…..
They also had a hola houp bench…I think we need to actually read a Charlie and Lola book to fully appreciate this… (and a lot of the other bit of the exhibition!)
We then went downstairs to the interactive part of the main art gallery where Noah tried on a mask for size..
and Caitlin and E dressed up in very large and strange half suit half Scottish kilt outfits…
As you’ll notice in the photos Caitlin has no shoes on! This is because when I put her trainers on this morning her toes were right at the very end of them even though she hasn’t had them all that long, well not in comparison to her old boots which she had for a good 10 months before she out grew them! So we called at clarks on our way to Charlie and Lola and bought some boots. Caitlin walked for about 5 mins to the Art Gallery then started crying because her feet hurt, when I looked her new boots had rubbed a big hole in her leg. So she had to go in socks around the gallery and then we took the £38 boots back. They swapped them no problem at all, well would have swapped them if they could find a single style that I liked that fitted her! So we got a refund, and now need to go to Cheshire Oaks in search of discount clarks shoes that actually fit! Maybe after the birthday celebrations……
It was a poor show by the minis at York Dragway today, and so by having more contestants the beetles won, only by 8 points to 7, which isn’t bad considering beetles had about 5 more contestants! So maybe, just maybe if we’d have raced the minis would have won…. But at £30 to take Elvis down the strip we had decided against it. For the past few years the minis have beaten the beetles, and maybe if the original event hadn’t been snowed off at Easter we would have won again!
Yesterday Noah watched about an hours worth of drag racing videos and LOVED it, so today he was well practised at saying “ready, steady, go!!” He also bent down to look under the jet car, I think he likes cars (which is good for being in our family!!)
Caitlin looked very at home just taking in all the drag racing, as if she see’s it all day every day!
She was, however, quite shocked at Noah trying to put a piece of copper pipe he found into someones wheels!!
You should have seen Richards face when he spotted him moving onto the air intake (that hole just above the wheel!) where the pipe could have caused some real damage! We moved away soon after the above photo! Soon it was time for the jet car which is really loud, has tonnes of flames and loads of smoke, but they both loved….
When it was time to go it was nice to see which car they loved enough to kiss……….
Pizza Friday is going to be our new family tradition! We quite often have a pizza take away on a Friday night but since I got my breadmaker we’ve been trying to make our own and they are very nice! Caitlin and Noah loved decorating their own pizzas, including eating some bits along the way!
…and the eating has gone quite well too!!
although when you look at Caitlin’s close up it looks awful…cheezly just does not melt well! But Caitlin knows no different and has eaten every last bit of her’s.
My recipe says its for 1 large pizza so last time I added a bit since it was for 4 people (well 2 adults and 2 kids) but we were snowed under in pizza! This time we’ve just followed the recipe and we had 2 kids size pizza’s as above plus what we think is still another 2 fairly large (deep crust) pizza’s…. so God knows what size oven you would need for the ONE pizza they think it makes!!!!!!!!!!! Here’s our’s with a fork by the right hand one so you can see the size… The blue tray has markings and that pizza is 11inches according to that! So that makes two 11 inch pizzas plus two 5 or 6 inch pizzas!!!!!
But aside from the quanity issues the pizzas are very nice and so is our new tradition!!!
Yes the Megane is yet another of our non-working cars!!!!!! In fact its the only one of our cars without a name! Over 18 months ago, before Noah was born, the Megane went through a bit of flooded road and sucked water into its engine and died! Its been waiting its turn in the fixing queue for a very long time… Today its turn came and Caitlin and Noah both helped….
Unfortunately the wheel nuts were seized on so Richard spent most of the day trying to get them off….
….and thats pretty much all he got done today. Apart from some highly illegal things which we can’t talk about!!!! Hopefully tomorrow and Sunday will be more productive. He needs to get it done because Benny the Pikey Pug is fast running out of MOT and its highly unlikely he will pass without a struggle! Plus it would be nice to go on our hols in the Megane as it has more room!
