Nursery day 3

Last day of settling in and Noah was fine.  He cried a little bit at first but was happily eating his tea when I got back.

Caitlin had a jabberjacks session which is loads of signing and dancing, but she seemed more impressed that she’d had jam butties and jelly for her tea!!  Hmmm this is one of my bug bears with nursery they claim to give “nutritious home cooked meals” and this is the type of junk she has!!!!  Another big reason I need to quit and look after them!!!!!!!!!!

Talking of quiting today I heard (officially) 25% of my department are going to be made redundant…so fingers crossed I’m one of them!  Think I’ve got a fight on my hands though..I know a few others who would be quite happy to go!!!!

Day 2 …

Was a bit of a waste of time really!!  Noah cried for about 5 mins when I left then fell asleep and didn’t wake up until I got back!!!

Tomorrow is a full 2 hours alone so surely he can’t sleep for all of that!!!!

Again Caitlin had a really good time.

Nursery day 1!!!

Today was Noahs first day at nursery.  As it was day 1 I didn’t leave him and he had a really good time.  In order to stay with Noah I had to leave Caitlin, she wasn’t too happy about that and I could hear the tears…  They didn’t last long though and she did some painting and had a really good time.

Tomorrow is a short leave for Noah so fingers crossed…..

Last playgroup …..

…well for me anyway!  Richard might be taking them when he finishes in March but I’ll be stuck in work…

Noah played with his friend Jessica (who was born a week before him), and of course Caitlin….

Then tomorrow is nursery practice sessions!!!!!  Watch this space…..

Minis and Nanny’s birthday.

Today me and Richard went to a mini show in Staffordshire (without Caitlin and Noah!!). We went in the Pug which is cheating and no where near as much fun as going in a mini but Rich had planned to buy lots of parts for Kevout. The parts weren’t as cheap as we’d hoped so he hardly bought anything. Here are a few pics of some of the more unusual minis…

Personally the pink one is pretty horrible..way too pink and too “body-kitted”. The white one was dressed up as a Star Wars X Wing fighter. All of the club stands have to decorate their stands and minis and the best one wins prizes! Our club necver enters at this show because we’re just not artistic enough to compete with the likes of the Star Wars crew… There was also a mini dressed up as Princess Leah!!! Their stand was great!

After the mini show it was time to head up to Liverpool to collect Caitlin and Noah and wish Nanny a Happy Birthday for tomorrow. I’d made a Caitlin friendly cake using Lindas recipe…(Thanks Linda its worked every time so far!!!) Caitlin helped Nanny to unwrap her presents and then Noah and Caitlin got stuck into the cake. Unfortunately my batteries died at just the wrong moment and I missed a golden opportunity to take a pic of Noah with his whole face in Nanny’s cake!!!!!!!!!! Hmmmmmm…..

Bump!!

Today was our last day at another play group (Yes we go to lots of playgroups!!!)  Caitlin was having a great time and was singing and dancing at song time, which was the first time ever.  She usually stays close to me and doesn’t join in much.  So anyway she was dancing about and lost her balance and crashed into a table.  She now has quite a good bump on her head…. (here it is at bath time when it had actually gone down a bit!)

After the bump and before bath time… we went for a play and tea with Lucy and Ed….

       

Slides and Kevout.

Today we went to head over heels for a play.  We all went because Richard had the day off for working in the middle of the night last night.

As usual Caitlin went around and around!!  Richard was quite surprised at how able and fast she is now, the last time he went somewhere like that with us was when Noah was born.  They’re not a weekend type of outing!!!!!!!  Here they both are on the slides, the second slide is Caitlins absolute favourite.

After our morning outing Richard spent the rest of the day working on Kevout.  I realised I never write about the minis only the kids!!  Kevout is our poorly mini (lots of our minis are poorly!!) last July we took him for his MOT and he only failed on 3 things, some welding at the front, some more near the back and a wheel rubbing.  Richard ran out of time to fix these in time to take him to the wedding we were aiming for so he decided to strip him back a bit and fix him properly…  This is what lay beneath……….

 

 …Yes that is rust….and yes God knows how the car was held together…  For those who aern’t used to seeing minis in bits, you are looking from the front of the car to the far left of that photo is the hole for the door, the thing that looks like a vent is where the air vent feeds into the car and the engine belongs on the other side of the piece of metal on the right of the photo.  The wing was attached to the rust SOMEHOW????  So Richard will be busy a while fixing that lot!!  We’re off out on Sunday buying panels to replace them……

Last week….

This week is our last week of playgroups….  Next week we are doing settling in days at nursery so we won’t be able to go to any of our regular playgroups…  I think Caitlin will miss it as she quite often mentions the other kids that go.

Watch out Delia….

Today Caitlin was Delia Smith for the afternoon!!  We made banana muffins.  Caitlin poured, tipped, stirred and even used the mixer on her banana muffins.  She had a great time and stirred for ages, I kept asking for a turn but she wouldn’t!!   Here she is stirring….

Then it was time to cook…I don’t think we poured enough into each case as they turned out a bit flat as you can see in the “show” photo….

And then to taste….  They may look a bit flat and not really like a muffin but more like a cake, but they taste nice…..

HE’S OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep today Noah took his first steps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am amazed…but even stranger he’s done it at pretty much the same time as Caitlin did…

Noah is 5 days away from being 11 months and Caitlin was 4 days away from 11 months, so Noah is 1 day quicker!!!!!   Unfortunately I wasn’t able to video Noahs first steps…  I still to this day have no idea how I managed to be videoing at exactly the right time with Caitlin but I wasn’t able to be that lucky again.  I wasn’t even able to get his 2 lot of steps…or the 3rd etc etc…maybe in a week or 2?

And here is not walking or even standing..just looking cute before eating some play dough….
